Welcome to Dave’s Brighton Comedy Festival!
We are extremely pleased to bring you this year’s bigger and brighter instalment of the comedy festival with our brand new headline sponsor Dave. Dave’s passion for bringing comedy to a broader audience and developing the tremendous talent found here in the UK through programmes such as One Night Stand, make them a perfect fit for us.
The festival sets out to present the best live comedy of the year and there is no better place in the country to do this than Brighton. The heady air of the seaside combines with some of the world’s funniest people to create a mixture that is unmissable.
In addition to our well established hub at Brighton Dome, the festival will once again be returning to The Old Market. We will also be working in partnership with Brighton’s year round comedy heart at Komedia including their legendary Krater Comedy Club. With over 70 performances across 16 days, the city really will be awash with laughter.
Not only are we proud to bring you the very cream of British stand up comedy, we are also excited to discover the next generation of talent. To do this we have teamed up with Komedia and Jill Edwards Comedy Workshops to present the inaugural Squawker Award.
Some of the biggest names in comedy are coming to the festival this year including Jack Dee, Dara O Briain, Greg Davies, Ross Noble, Kevin Bridges, Russell Kane, Jon Richardson, Jason Byrne, Mark Watson, Stephen K Amos, Marcus Brigstocke, Jenny Eclair, Richard Herring and Alexei Sayle. We also have the best of Brighton with the return of local heroes Zoe Lyons, Stephen Grant, Seann Walsh, Angela Barnes and Simon Evans.
If you’re looking to get ahead of the pack, then check out some of these soon to be household names; Joe Lycett, James Acaster, Elis James, Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer Daniel Simonsen and Vikki Stone. There is plenty left to discover, so please enjoy the pages and weeks ahead.
